The Center for Microbial Oceanography: Research and Education (C-MORE) offered an international summer course “Microbial Oceanography: Genomes to Biomes, from 2006 to 2015.” The course was sponsored by the Agouron Institute, the National Science Foundation (NSF), SOEST, and C-MORE. It was offered to graduate students and post-doctoral researchers, and explored the dynamic and fundamental role marine microbes play in shaping ocean ecology and global biogeochemistry.

The course was based at the University of Hawai‘i in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, with participation limited to approximately 16 students.
